The Carnegie School

“A different kind of high school… A real-world link between work and school.” While a meticulous restoration returned this abandoned landmark building to its proper historic grandeur, the technology and new high school within it are strictly 21st century. The Carnegie program was an unconventional, transitional experience for up to 400 high school seniors. The goal was to merge community service and professional experience with academics. The details:

  • 1905 former Carnegie library.
  • Listed on the National Registry for Historic Places.
  • 3 stories, 54,000 SF.
  • Complete interior and exterior renovation.
  • Project received design awards for Preservation and Renovation/Adaptive Reuse.
